3.1 Phillip Lim Spring Summer 13 via style.com
If there is one show I look forward to during fashion month for Spring Summer, it is 3.1 Phillip Lim (and in Winter it is Rag & Bone). A little understated show to look forward to I know compared to highly anticipated shows the likes of Wang, Celine, Balenciaga, Vuitton, Chanel… But the heart wants what it wants. And quite frankly the styling of the Lim shows (and R&B as well) is half the draw card. So good*.This season was no exception. I’m loving that rusty-oil-slicked-look leather, the wood-grain print, boxy high necked tees, and of course the colour palette. A little more girly and less punk than SS13, but that’s kind of a welcome change at this stage. No more studs please**. What are the thoughts out there? What are your most highly anticipated shows?
*If anyone can tell me who is responsible I will love you forever. Is it Lim himself? I must know.
**My rebellious phase as a teen involved a lot of studs, and badges, and eyeliner, and punk music. That side of me still thrives, but if I have to look at another T-Swift-loving girl with a Pink Floyd tee and stupidly-high platform fetish shoes covered in studs, I may just give it all up for The Carpenters.
