I was lucky enough over the weekend to attend Sydney Contemporary Art Festival at Carriageworks*. Always a beautiful setting, the old converted workshops looked even more spectacular filled with so many impressive artworks (so many I didn’t get to see half of them). But the highlights were the talks I attended – the first included absolutely delightful Rachel Griffiths; the second, Akira and Mitchell Oakley Smith. Much of both discussions surrounded the idea and processes of collaboration within the creative industries, which was really wonderful to hear about from such incredible and seasoned creative professionals, especially since collaborative work plays a huge role in fashion and (for me personally at least) blogging. I feel so refreshed again after hearing the talks and inspired to do more here**. Yay! … The day also allowed for awesome outfit shots against the Carriageworks backdrop… Takes me back to fashion week.
*Thank you Katherine
**I am now also inspired to do many DIY projects at home “in homage” to those lovely artworks I am yet to be able to afford….
